If you’ve followed Ribz Reviews for any length of time, you’ll probably know that The Original Mr Chef Uddingston is somewhere I’ve visited and reviewed on numerous occasions.
And there’s a good reason for that!
On this particular visit, we decided to tackle something a wee bit different.
The Egyptian Kebab Box! 🌯🍕
And I’ll tell you something…
This is a serious amount of scran!
Packed with an Egyptian kebab, pizza, chips, pakora and onion rings, it’s exactly the sort of takeaway feast that catches my attention.
But was everything as good as it sounded?
Let’s get into it!
Please note: This is an older review from my archives. The menu, box contents and availability may have changed since my original visit.

What’s Included in the Egyptian Kebab Box at Mr Chef?

One of the things that immediately caught my attention was the sheer amount of food included.
Our Egyptian Kebab Box came with:
- Egyptian kebab
- 10-inch pizza
- Chips
- Mixed pakora
- Onion rings
That’s a cracking selection of takeaway favourites all packed into one box.
And if you’re anything like me and enjoy trying a bit of everything rather than sticking to one dish, it’s certainly an appealing option.
You’ve got the kebab, a full pizza and plenty of sides to work your way through.
Definitely not a light lunch! 😂
The Egyptian Kebab – Still the Star of the Show!

Now, I’ve reviewed plenty of food from Mr Chef Uddingston over the years.
But there’s one particular item that I always seem to come back to.
The Egyptian kebab!
And after trying it again as part of this box, my opinion hadn’t changed.
For me, it’s still the absolute star of the show.
I genuinely struggle to see past it whenever I’m ordering from Mr Chef.
It’s one of those takeaway dishes that just ticks all the boxes for my personal taste.
And it’s no surprise to me that it comes so highly rated by other customers.
Of course, I appreciate that an Egyptian kebab might not be everyone’s cup of tea.
We all have different preferences when it comes to takeaway food.
But for me?
It has everything I want from a good scran!
And even with a full pizza and several sides sitting alongside it, the Egyptian kebab was still my favourite part of the meal.
Ali Masaladar Crunch Pizza – What a Combination!

For the pizza included in our box, we decided to go for the Ali Masaladar Crunch.
And just wait until you hear what’s on it!
The pizza featured:
- Peri peri base
- Spicy chicken
- Chicken tikka
- Spiced onions
Now that’s my kind of pizza!
Anyone who follows my reviews will know I’m a big fan of spicy chicken pizzas.
So when you combine spicy chicken, chicken tikka and spiced onions on a peri peri base, you’re already onto a winner as far as I’m concerned.
What a combination!
I really enjoyed this one.
There were plenty of flavours that were right up my street, and it was a great addition to the box.
If you enjoy Indian-inspired pizza toppings and a bit of spice, this is definitely the sort of combination I’d recommend trying.
Chips, Mixed Pakora and Onion Rings

Alongside the Egyptian kebab and pizza, the box also included chips, mixed pakora and onion rings.
And that’s what makes this such an appealing takeaway option.
Rather than ordering a kebab and calling it a day, you’ve got a selection of different things to enjoy.
The mixed pakora adds another traditional takeaway favourite, while the chips and onion rings complete the feast.
I enjoyed the additional items, although for me they were very much supporting acts.
The Egyptian kebab was always going to be difficult to beat!
Still, having everything together made for a cracking selection of food.
And there’s certainly plenty to get through.
Is the Egyptian Kebab Box Worth Trying?
If you enjoy a big takeaway feast with plenty of variety, I’d certainly say it’s worth considering.
One of the things I like about boxes like this is that you’re not limited to one type of food.
You’ve got an Egyptian kebab, a pizza and a selection of sides.
It’s the sort of order that would appeal to anyone who enjoys trying a bit of everything.
And personally, I thought the combination worked really well.
The Ali Masaladar Crunch pizza was excellent, the sides added plenty of variety, and the Egyptian kebab was as enjoyable as ever.
Throw a pizza in next to one of my favourite kebabs and what’s not to love? 😂
My Overall Mr Chef Uddingston Review
Another enjoyable visit to The Original Mr Chef! Uddingston
Having reviewed this takeaway numerous times over the years, I already knew there were plenty of things on the menu I enjoyed.
But the Egyptian Kebab Box brought several of them together in one big takeaway feast.
The Ali Masaladar Crunch pizza was a fantastic combination of spicy chicken, chicken tikka, spiced onions and peri peri flavours.
The chips, mixed pakora and onion rings provided plenty of extras.
But ultimately, there was only ever going to be one winner for me.
The Egyptian kebab!
It’s still one of my favourite things to order from Mr Chef, and this visit did absolutely nothing to change that opinion.
Would I order it again?
Without hesitation!
