Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner – A Full Day Eating in Coatbridge

How about spending an entire day eating in Coatbridge without really leaving the town centre?

That’s the plan for this one.

We’re starting with a proper breakfast, coming back for a Chinese lunch and then finishing the day with burgers.

Three different Coatbridge businesses.

Three completely different meals.

And very little travelling required.

Here’s how I’d spend a full day eating in Coatbridge town centre.

🍳 Breakfast – Cheers Bar

Start of our full day of eating in Coatbridge.

Eating in Coatbridge

First stop of the day is Cheers Bar at The Point on Main Street.

Cheers opens from 10am and serves breakfast alongside its wider pub-food menu, making it an easy place to start our Coatbridge food crawl.

What I Tried

Full Scottish Breakfast + French Toast

What I Thought

Now I don’t get out for a big breakfast very often so when the chance came and this massive breakfast was on the menu I juts had to go for it.

  • Two eggs
  • Two Tattie Scones
  • Two Haggis
  • Two Black Pudding
  • Tomato + Mushrooms
  • Beans
  • Side of French toast.

Let’s be honest… that’s far too much for any human to be eating 😂

But I have it a good go.

Everyone was cooked well and having some French toast is always a bonus.

There are much smaller options than this available which are probably a better choice if you don’t want to have a nap right after or have any aspirations of eating again throughout the day.

Staff couldn’t have been and we had a good laugh on arrival which always makes things more pleasant.

Cheers Coatbridge

🥡 Lunch – Oriental House

Part 2 of our full day of eating in Coatbridge

For lunch, we’re staying around Main Street but completely changing cuisines.

Oriental House is a Chinese takeaway in Coatbridge town centre.

At the time of writing, Oriental House offers a lunchtime service on selected weekdays, making this an interesting alternative to the usual sandwich, roll or café lunch.

What I Tried

Special Curry with Rice

What I Thought

Stopped in at Oriental House to try their lunch menu as someone had mentioned they do good we deals.

None of the lunch items particularly jumped out at me but I did see they have a wee deal on some combinations you can get in one tub.

Went for the Special Curry with rice.

Tbh I didn’t even know what came in a special curry so I thought it would be an interesting choice.

Turned out to be a good one.

I really enjoyed this. It has prawn, pork chicken. And beef in a curry sauce with a bit of a kick to it 🌶️

In terms of curry sauce from a Chinese I would say this was defo one of the more enjoyable ones I’ve had.

Great big portion for around £6.60.

Overall for price, portion size and flavour I would 100% give pass marks to this place.

Lovely wee woman servings as well which always helps!

🍔 Dinner – The Burgerzzz

Part 3 of our Full day of eating in Coatbridge

Our final stop is The Burgerzzz in the Quadrant Shopping Centre.

And we’re finishing with something substantial.

The Burgerzzz menu goes far beyond a straightforward cheeseburger. There are smash burgers, fried chicken burgers, loaded fries, wings, hot dogs, mac and cheese, rice boxes and some absolutely ridiculous-looking loaded boxes.

What I Tried

Triple BBQ Burger + Buffalo Wings

What I Thought

Start with the burger. 🍔

I asked for a recommendation and this is what I was advised on.

I’ll say two things about this burger.

  1. I would happily eat it everyday as I did enjoy every bite of it.
  2. It just didn’t do enough for me to stand out as a burger that I would go out of my way to recommend to others as a must try.

The wings …

I’ll say two things about them as well.

  1. The Flavour…. PHENOMENAL. Should Come as no surprise that these flavours absolutely hit every button for me.
  2. And this is of course my personally preference, they had the crispy coating on them which I’m not overly keen on.

However I was willing to overlook that due to the outstanding flavour.

If they had been without coating you would have been talking about elite level of wings here for me.

I’m sure they would happily make them without the coating though so it’s really not that big of an issue.

If you prefer a crispy coating then 100% give the a go.

Nice meal start to finish , just a bit of nitpicking from me.

Can You Spend a Full Day Eating in Coatbridge Town Centre?

Absolutely.

And you don’t even need to spend half the day travelling between restaurants to do it.

For this particular Coatbridge food crawl we’ve got:

Breakfast – Cheers Bar

Start with a proper sit-down breakfast.

Lunch – Oriental House

Swap the usual lunchtime sandwich for some Chinese food.

Dinner – The Burgerzzz

Finish the day with burgers and loaded food.

Three completely different meals within Coatbridge town centre.

That’s another thing I want to show with these guides.

Sometimes we become so used to travelling elsewhere for food that we forget how many options are sitting practically on our doorstep.

So if I was spending a full day eating in Coatbridge, these three would give me a pretty varied day.

Now I just need to find room for dessert…
