Welcome to Ribz Reviews, my wee corner of the internet dedicated to good food, great experiences and discovering places worth shouting about.
What started as a passion for trying different restaurants, takeaways and hidden gems around Lanarkshire has grown into something much bigger.
Over the years, I’ve visited hundreds of places, eaten more burgers than I care to admit, tried some absolutely incredible food and, let’s be honest, had a few meals I’d rather forget!
But that’s all part of the adventure.
Whether it’s a wee local takeaway, a fancy restaurant, a supermarket meal deal or an enormous American food challenge, I’m always up for giving something a go.

Lanarkshire is where it all started, and local food will always be a massive part of what I do.
From Hamilton and Motherwell to Bellshill, East Kilbride, Wishaw and beyond, I’m constantly exploring the restaurants, cafés, takeaways and food businesses on our doorstep.
I love discovering somewhere new, revisiting old favourites and finding those little hidden gems that deserve more attention.

As much as I love exploring Lanarkshire, I’ve also got a serious passion for travelling.
And if you’ve followed me for any length of time, you’ll probably know there’s one place in particular I can’t seem to stay away from.
Las Vegas!
What started as holidays to America has grown into a love of exploring everything the country has to offer, especially the food.
From massive American breakfasts and legendary burger joints to iconic Las Vegas hotels, attractions and experiences, I love seeing how things compare to back home in Scotland.
Through Ribz on the Road, you’ll find:

- American food adventures and taste tests.
- Travel guides, attractions and experiences.
- Tips for fellow Scottish and UK travellers.
- Plenty of first-time experiences and the occasional ridiculous food challenge.
And while Vegas is a big part of the adventure, the long-term plan is to explore much more of America and beyond.
💪 A Personal Trainer Who Loves His Food
Here’s something that sometimes surprises people.
Alongside reviewing restaurants and travelling, I’ve also worked as a personal trainer for over 14 years.
And yes, I appreciate the irony of spending my days helping people get fitter while regularly eating burgers, pizzas and cheesecakes!
But I’ve always believed that enjoying food and looking after yourself don’t have to be opposites.
That’s why you’ll also find the occasional recipe, fitness tip and practical advice on enjoying the foods you love while maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
No unnecessary restrictions. No pretending you have to live on chicken and broccoli.
Just a realistic approach to food, fitness and life.
⭐ Are My Reviews Honest?
Absolutely.
Everything I share is based on my own experiences, tastes and opinions.
Food is subjective. Something I absolutely love might not be your cup of tea, and something I don’t particularly enjoy might be your favourite meal.
That’s what makes reviewing food interesting.
My goal isn’t to tell everyone what they should think. It’s to share my experience, show you what I ordered and hopefully give you enough information to decide whether somewhere is worth visiting.
Where content involves a gifted meal, invitation, paid partnership or affiliate relationship, I’ll make that clear.

One of my favourite things about building Ribz Reviews has been the community that’s grown around it.
The recommendations, conversations, disagreements over the best Chinese takeaway and messages telling me about somewhere I’ve never heard of are all part of what makes this worthwhile.
And that’s what I want this website to become.
Not just somewhere to read reviews, but a place to discover new food, explore new places, share recommendations and maybe even find your next favourite restaurant.
