Jugni Newarthill – Two Courses Under £10 and I Somehow Ate Enough for Two!

There are certain restaurants you visit once, enjoy and then maybe return to a few years later.

And then there are the places you find yourself going back to time and time again.

For me, Jugni Newarthill is firmly in that second category.

In fact, over the last few years, I’ve probably visited Jugni Newarthill more than any other restaurant.

And there’s a very good reason for that.

I’ve genuinely never been disappointed with anything I’ve eaten there.

So when I heard about a lunchtime offer featuring two courses for under £10, there was absolutely no chance I was missing out.

Two courses.

Less than a tenner.

At one of my favourite restaurants.

What could possibly go wrong?

Well, for starters, I couldn’t find anybody to come with me.

And that’s where things got a wee bit ridiculous. 😂

Please note: This is a review of a previous visit. The two-course lunch offer was available on Fridays and Saturdays at the time, but prices, availability and booking arrangements may have changed. Please check directly with Jugni before visiting.

Jugni Newarthill Two-Course Lunch Deal for Under £10

jugni newarthill 2 course deal

Let’s start with the reason for my visit.

At the time, Jugni Newarthill was offering two courses for under £10 on Friday and Saturday lunchtimes.

Now, I don’t know about you, but I think that’s a pretty appealing offer.

Especially when it’s somewhere you already know and love.

I’ve eaten at Jugni plenty of times over the years, so I wasn’t going in wondering whether I’d enjoy the food.

I already had a very good idea of what to expect.

And when you’re getting the opportunity to enjoy a starter and main course for less than a tenner, it’s difficult not to be interested.

Of course, restaurant deals change, so I’d always recommend checking the current menu and prices before heading along.

But at the time of this visit, it was exactly the sort of lunch offer I love discovering.

Good food, a restaurant I trust and a price that makes it tempting to visit regularly.

When Nobody Wants to Come for Lunch…

Now, normally, when I’m heading out to review a restaurant, I’ll have somebody coming along with me.

It’s always good to have a bit of company.

And, more importantly, it means I can order a few different things and get the chance to see more of the menu.

But this particular visit was arranged at fairly short notice.

And unfortunately, I couldn’t convince anybody to come with me.

So I had a decision to make.

Do I cancel?

Do I go myself and order a sensible amount of food?

Or do I go myself and order enough food for two people anyway?

Well, if you’ve followed Ribz Reviews for any length of time, you’ll probably already know which option I went for.

I went myself and ordered the lot. 😂

And when I say the lot, I mean a serious amount of scran.

What I Ordered at Jugni Newarthill

Despite being on my own, I ended up ordering:

  • Two starters
  • Two main courses
  • A naan bread
  • Rice

Yes.

All for me.

Not exactly your typical light lunch, is it?

But I wanted to make the most of the visit and try a decent selection of food.

And that’s exactly what I did.

I haven’t included the individual dish names here because I don’t want to guess what I ordered, but the amount of food should give you a pretty good idea of how this particular lunchtime went.

What started as a visit to check out an affordable two-course deal turned into a full-blown solo feast.

And I’ll tell you something.

I made a pretty impressive attempt at finishing it!

Two Starters, Two Mains and Almost Nothing Left!

Now, I appreciate that ordering two starters and two mains for yourself isn’t exactly normal behaviour.

But I’ve never claimed to be normal when it comes to food. 😂

And considering how much I enjoy Jugni, I wasn’t particularly worried about having too much on the table.

I knew I was in for a good meal.

The starters arrived, followed by the mains, and then there was the naan and rice to work through as well.

It was a ridiculous amount of food for one person.

But somehow, I managed to get through almost all of it.

And I’m not going to lie, I’m pretty proud of that achievement!

Would I recommend everybody ordering this much food for lunch?

Probably not.

But did I enjoy myself?

Absolutely.

Sometimes you’ve just got to embrace the ridiculousness of the situation.

And sitting in one of my favourite restaurants, working my way through enough food for two people, was certainly one of those occasions.

Why Jugni Newarthill Is One of My Favourite Restaurants

Here’s the thing about Jugni. Newarthill

This wasn’t my first visit.

It wasn’t my second.

And it certainly wasn’t my third.

I’ve been going to Jugni for years, and it’s probably the restaurant I’ve visited most often over that time.

That’s quite a statement when you consider how many different restaurants I visit for Ribz Reviews.

I’m constantly trying somewhere new.

There’s always another recommendation waiting.

Another restaurant opening.

Another menu I want to explore.

So for somewhere to keep drawing me back repeatedly, it must be doing something right.

And for me, Jugni absolutely does.

I’ve never been disappointed with anything I’ve ordered there.

Now, that’s not something I can say about every restaurant I’ve visited.

Not even close.

But Jugni has consistently delivered enjoyable meals whenever I’ve been.

And that’s why it’s become one of my personal favourites.

Consistency Is What Keeps Me Coming Back

One thing I think is incredibly important when it comes to restaurants is consistency.

It’s all very well visiting somewhere once and having an outstanding meal.

But what happens when you go back?

Is the food just as good?

Do you still enjoy the experience?

Does it live up to the expectations set by your previous visit?

For me, that’s where Jugni Newarthill has impressed.

I’ve returned time and time again, and I’ve always come away happy with what I’ve eaten.

And when you find somewhere that consistently delivers, it naturally becomes somewhere you trust.

That’s exactly how I feel about Jugni.

It’s one of those restaurants where I can look forward to a meal without worrying too much about whether I’m going to enjoy it.

And this lunchtime visit did nothing to change that opinion.

Is Jugni Worth Visiting for Lunch?

Based on my experiences, absolutely.

Now, I should make one thing clear.

I’m not saying you need to order two starters, two mains, naan and rice to enjoy yourself.

That’s entirely optional.

And possibly best avoided if you’ve got anything productive planned for the rest of the afternoon! 😂

But if you’re looking for somewhere to enjoy a proper lunch, Jugni is certainly a restaurant I’d recommend considering.

The two-course deal available during my visit made it even more appealing.

And if I lived a wee bit closer, I honestly think I’d have been taking advantage of that offer on a regular basis.

That’s how much I enjoy the place.

Of course, I’d check whether the same lunchtime offer is still available before making plans.

But even without that particular deal, Jugni remains one of my favourite restaurants based on the meals I’ve enjoyed there over the years.

Would I Return to Jugni?

I think you already know the answer to that one.

Absolutely.

And probably sooner rather than later.

I’ve been back so many times over the years that it’s become one of my regular favourites.

There are very few restaurants I can say that about.

And while I love discovering somewhere new, there’s also something brilliant about returning to a place you know consistently delivers.

Sometimes you want to try something completely different.

Other times, you just want to go somewhere you know you’re going to enjoy.

For me, Jugni ticks that second box perfectly.

And if there’s a good lunch deal involved?

Even better.

Although next time, I might try a wee bit harder to find somebody to come with me.

Not because I couldn’t manage the food.

Obviously, I almost did.

But because ordering enough for two people is probably slightly more socially acceptable when there are actually two people at the table. 😂

My Final Verdict – Jugni’s Lunchtime Feast

What started as a plan to try a two-course lunch deal for under £10 turned into one of my more ridiculous solo restaurant visits.

I couldn’t get anybody to come along at short notice.

So rather than change my plans, I went myself.

And ordered:

Two starters. Two mains. A naan. And rice.

All for one person.

And somehow, I almost finished everything.

An achievement I’m still pretty pleased with, to be honest!

But the main takeaway from this visit isn’t really the amount of food I managed to eat.

It’s how much I continue to enjoy Jugni.

After so many visits over the years, it remains one of my absolute favourite restaurants.

I’ve never been disappointed with the food I’ve ordered, and this visit was another enjoyable experience.

Jugni continues to get the Ribz seal of approval! 👌

And if that two-course lunch offer is still available when you’re reading this, it’s certainly worth looking into.

Just maybe don’t feel obliged to order two of everything like I did!

What’s Your Favourite Restaurant for a Lunch Deal?

I love discovering a good lunchtime offer, particularly when it’s somewhere that serves cracking food.

And there must be plenty of other restaurants around Lanarkshire offering good-value lunches.

If you could recommend just ONE restaurant for a brilliant lunchtime deal, where would you send me?

I’m always looking for somewhere new to try.

And next time, I might even bring somebody with me!

If you like Jugni Newarthill..
