Have you Tried Time Deli Hamilton
Every now and again, you visit somewhere that just gives you a good feeling.
And I don’t necessarily mean because the food is good.
Although that obviously helps!
I mean somewhere that has a certain atmosphere about it. Somewhere you walk into and immediately feel like you want the people behind it to do well.
And for whatever reason, Time Deli Hamilton is one of those places for me.
I genuinely don’t know exactly what it is.
There’s just something about the place that I absolutely love.
The vibes, the atmosphere, the whole experience.
It’s one of those local businesses that I find myself rooting for.
And the fact that the food is absolutely outstanding?
Well, that certainly doesn’t hurt!
On this particular visit, Kirstie and I stopped in for breakfast.
I went for a more traditional breakfast, while Kirstie ordered something I probably wouldn’t have thought to choose myself.
And as much as I enjoyed my own food, I have to admit something.
She absolutely won the breakfast competition that day.
And I wasn’t particularly happy about it! 😂
Please note: This review reflects my experience at the time of visiting. Menus, prices and opening hours may have changed since then.
Time Deli Hamilton – One of Those Places You Just Want to Succeed
Before we get into the food, I want to explain something about Time Deli.
Because this is one of those reviews where the experience goes beyond what was on the plate.
I’ve visited countless cafés, restaurants and takeaways since starting Ribz Reviews.
Some have impressed me with their food.
Others have stood out because of the service, atmosphere or something a wee bit different.
But occasionally, I come across somewhere that just feels special.
And that’s how I feel about Time Deli.
There’s something about visiting that puts me in a good mood.
I can’t even put my finger on exactly why.
I just love the feel of the place.
And every time I go, I find myself hoping they continue to do brilliantly.
I think that’s one of the things I enjoy most about reviewing independent local food businesses.
You’re not simply reviewing a plate of food.
You’re discovering places that contribute something to the local community.
Places that people can get behind.
And Time Deli is a perfect example of that for me.
Of course, none of that would mean much if the food wasn’t up to scratch.
Thankfully, that’s not a problem here.
Because the breakfast?
Absolutely cracking.
Breakfast at Time Deli Hamilton

Now, I’m a big fan of a good breakfast.
And considering the number of cafés I’ve visited across Lanarkshire, I’ve tried more than my fair share.
I’ve had brilliant breakfasts.
I’ve had average breakfasts.
And I’ve had a few that were probably best forgotten about!
But one thing I always appreciate is a breakfast where the individual ingredients are prepared properly.
You don’t necessarily need a massive plate piled high with everything imaginable.
Sometimes the quality of the food makes a much bigger impression than the quantity.
And that’s one of the things that stood out about my breakfast at Time Deli.
Nothing felt greasy.
That’s a big positive for me.
There’s nothing worse than ordering breakfast and finding everything swimming in grease.
You want to enjoy the different flavours on the plate, not have everything dominated by oil.
And thankfully, that wasn’t my experience here.
It was a really enjoyable breakfast, with a couple of ingredients that particularly impressed me.
The Scrambled Eggs – Absolutely Exquisite!
Let’s start with the scrambled eggs.
Because these were tremendous.
Exquisite is the word I’d use.
And I don’t throw that word around lightly when it comes to scrambled eggs.
Well, maybe I do when they’re particularly good. 😂
But there’s a reason they stood out.
Scrambled eggs are one of those breakfast staples that can vary massively from place to place.
You’d think something so simple would be fairly easy to get right.
But anybody who’s eaten enough breakfasts will know that isn’t always the case.
I’ve had scrambled eggs that have been a real highlight of a meal.
And I’ve had others that were completely forgettable.
At Time Deli, they were firmly in the first category.
They were one of my favourite parts of the breakfast.
And when you’re somebody who reviews food as regularly as I do, it’s always nice when something as straightforward as scrambled eggs makes a lasting impression.
Sometimes it’s the simple things done really well that separate a good breakfast from a cracking one.
And these certainly helped make this one memorable.
The Black Pudding – Soft and Full of Flavour
Next up was another breakfast favourite of mine.
Black pudding.
Now, I know black pudding isn’t everybody’s cup of tea.
But personally, I love the stuff.
And when it’s done well, it can be one of the best parts of a Scottish breakfast.
The black pudding at Time Deli was excellent.
Soft and full of flavour.
Exactly what I was hoping for.
Sometimes black pudding can be a bit of an afterthought on a breakfast plate.
It’s there because people expect it to be there, but it doesn’t necessarily stand out.
That certainly wasn’t the case here.
This was one of the ingredients I particularly enjoyed.
Between the lovely scrambled eggs, the flavourful black pudding and the fact that the breakfast wasn’t greasy, I was having a very good morning.
A cracking breakfast.
No complaints from me.
Or at least, there wouldn’t have been any complaints if I hadn’t made the mistake of trying Kirstie’s food.
Because that’s when things took a turn.
Kirstie’s Eggs al Sugo – The Star of the Show!

Right.
We need to talk about this.
Because as much as I enjoyed my own breakfast, there was one dish on the table that absolutely stole the show.
The eggs al sugo.
And, of course, it wasn’t mine.
It was Kirstie’s.
Typical! 😂
Now, here’s the thing.
If I’d been looking through the menu myself, eggs al sugo probably wouldn’t have been something I’d immediately considered ordering.
Not because I thought there was anything wrong with it.
It’s just not the sort of dish I’d naturally gravitate towards when I’m choosing breakfast.
I’m usually drawn to more familiar breakfast options.
But Kirstie went for something different.
And after getting a taste of hers, I realised I’d made a serious error in judgement.
Because it was…
UN. BUH. LEEVABLE!
Honestly.
What a dish.
So Much Flavour in One Bowl!
The thing that absolutely blew me away about the eggs al sugo was the flavour.
There was just so much of it packed into one bowl of food.
It was one of those moments where you try something you weren’t particularly expecting to love and immediately realise what you’ve been missing.
And that’s exactly what happened here.
I’d been perfectly happy sitting enjoying my own breakfast.
The scrambled eggs were brilliant.
The black pudding was excellent.
Everything was going swimmingly.
Then I tried Kirstie’s eggs al sugo.
And suddenly my own breakfast didn’t seem quite as exciting anymore.
Not because there was anything wrong with it.
Far from it.
But because her dish was just that good.
It was absolutely bursting with flavour.
And I was stricken with jealousy.
Proper food envy.
The sort where you look at somebody else’s plate and start wondering whether they’d notice if you swapped meals halfway through.
Unfortunately, I don’t think Kirstie would have fallen for that one. 😂
The Breakfast I Wish I’d Ordered
I think one of the best compliments I can give a dish is that it makes me wish I’d ordered it myself.
And that’s exactly how I felt about the eggs al sugo.
Remember, this wasn’t even something I’d been considering.
It wasn’t a dish I’d gone in specifically wanting to try.
It was Kirstie’s choice.
And after one taste, I was completely sold.
That’s one of the brilliant things about eating out with somebody else.
You get to discover things you might never have ordered yourself.
Sometimes you stick with what you know because you already enjoy it.
And there’s absolutely nothing wrong with that.
But every now and again, somebody else orders something that opens your eyes to a completely different option.
That’s what happened at Time Deli Hamilton.
My breakfast was excellent.
But Kirstie’s eggs al sugo?
The clear winner on the day.
And if I was going back and choosing between the two again, I think you can probably guess what I’d be tempted to order.
Why Time Deli Stands Out in Hamilton
Something I talk about regularly on Ribz Reviews is just how much good food there is to discover around Lanarkshire.
And Hamilton in particular has plenty of places worth exploring.
But it’s not always about finding the biggest portions, the cheapest deals or the most unusual dishes.
Sometimes it’s about finding somewhere that simply does things well.
Somewhere you enjoy spending time.
Somewhere the food leaves you genuinely impressed.
And somewhere that makes you want to return.
That’s how I feel about Time Deli Hamilton.
I love the atmosphere.
I love the feeling I get when I visit.
And I really enjoy the food.
My breakfast was excellent, with particularly impressive scrambled eggs and black pudding.
But the eggs al sugo showed me there was even more to discover.
It’s the sort of experience that reminds me why I started reviewing local food businesses in the first place.
Why I Started Ribz Reviews
When I first started Ribz Reviews, the idea was simple.
I wanted to get out, try different places and share my experiences.
To discover great food.
To highlight local businesses.
And hopefully introduce people to somewhere they might not otherwise have visited.
And that’s still a massive part of what I enjoy about doing this.
Yes, I love trying ridiculous burgers, enormous takeaway boxes and all sorts of unusual combinations.
But there’s also something really satisfying about visiting a local café and finding food that’s genuinely outstanding.
Especially when it’s somewhere that gives you such a positive feeling.
Time Deli is exactly the sort of business I love being able to feature.
And it’s why I’m continuing to build my collection of local reviews and my interactive food map.
Because I want people to be able to discover places like this when they’re looking for somewhere to eat.
Not just the obvious choices.
Not just the big chains.
But the independent local businesses doing brilliant things.
And for me, Time Deli absolutely deserves to be part of that collection.

Would I Return to Time Deli?
Without a doubt.
In fact, it’s one of those places I already look forward to visiting.
There’s something about the whole experience that I really enjoy.
And after this particular breakfast, I’ve got even more reason to go back.
Because as good as my own food was, I think I might need to order those eggs al sugo for myself next time.
No more sitting across the table watching Kirstie enjoy the best dish of the day.
No more relying on getting a wee taste.
I want the full bowl! 😂
Although, knowing my luck, she’ll order something completely different next time and I’ll end up jealous of that instead.
That’s the danger of eating out with somebody who makes good menu choices.

My Final Verdict – Time Deli Hamilton
Sometimes I finish a review knowing exactly what made a place special.
Maybe it was a particular dish.
Maybe it was the service.
Maybe it was the value for money.
But with Time Deli, there’s something more.
I just absolutely love the place.
There’s a feeling I get whenever I visit that makes me want to see them succeed.
And when you combine that with genuinely outstanding food, you’ve got a pretty special combination.
My breakfast was excellent.
Nothing greasy.
Exquisite scrambled eggs.

A cracking way to start the day.
But the absolute star of the show?
Kirstie’s eggs al sugo.
UN-BUH-LEEVABLE!
So much flavour packed into one bowl.
I genuinely couldn’t believe how good it was.
And considering it wasn’t something I would have thought to order myself, it made an even bigger impression.
I went in happy with my own breakfast.
I left wondering why I hadn’t ordered hers.
And that, my friends, is proper food jealousy! 😂
Time Deli is a brilliant example of the great food you can find right here in Hamilton.
And it’s exactly why I started Ribz Reviews in the first place.
