📍 Grillaz Uddingston – 315 New Edinburgh Road, Uddingston, Lanarkshire
Another takeaway review, and this time we’re heading to Grillaz Uddingston to try a couple of things from their menu.
On this occasion, we decided to go for a proper feast, ordering their Monster Munchie Box alongside a Spicy Chicken Pizza.
And I’ve got to say, this was definitely a meal of two halves for me.
There were a couple of things I really enjoyed, but unfortunately, quite a few others that didn’t particularly stand out.
Let’s get into it.
What Did We Order From Grillaz Uddingston?
We went for two items:
- Grillaz Monster Munchie Box
- Spicy Chicken Pizza
And before we even get into how everything tasted, one thing worth mentioning is the sheer amount of food we received.
There was absolutely loads of it!
In fact, between the two orders, we had enough food for our dinner that evening AND lunch the following day.
So if you’re looking for a takeaway that can feed a few people, the portion sizes here are certainly worth considering.
But what about the food itself?
Spicy Chicken Pizza – The Highlight of the Meal
Let’s start with the positives.
And for anyone who follows my reviews regularly, this probably won’t come as much of a surprise.
The spicy chicken pizza was my favourite part of the entire order.
I genuinely enjoyed this one.
Out of everything we tried from Grillaz Uddingston, the pizza was easily the standout for me personally.
It was the one thing I finished eating and thought, aye, I’d happily order that again.
Sometimes when you’re reviewing a takeaway, you get something that’s decent enough but wouldn’t necessarily go back for it.
That wasn’t the case with the pizza.
If I was ordering from Grillaz again, I’d have absolutely no problem getting another one.
Definitely the winner of this particular takeaway!
Grillaz Uddingston Monster Munchie Box – Plenty of Food, But Was It Any Good?
Now onto the Monster Munchie Box.
First things first, you certainly can’t complain about the amount of food you receive.
This was a substantial portion, and as I mentioned earlier, we actually ended up going back to finish everything the following day.
So there’s definitely a positive there.
However, when it came to the actual food, I found most of the munchie box to be pretty average.
And I want to be clear about something.
There wasn’t anything particularly bad about it.
Everything was perfectly edible, and we did go back and eat the lot.
It wasn’t a case of getting something that was terrible or that we couldn’t finish.
It was more that nothing really stood out as being particularly special.
For me, the majority of the munchie box was just fine.
Nothing more, nothing less.
And when you’re ordering a big selection of food like this, you’re always hoping there will be a few standout items that make you want to order it again.
Unfortunately, I didn’t really get that feeling here.

The Chicken Wings Were the Best Part of the Munchie Box
If I had to pick a favourite from the Monster Munchie Box, it would definitely be the chicken wings.
Again, probably not much of a surprise to anyone who knows how much I enjoy chicken wings!
They were easily my favourite part of the box.
That being said, even the wings weren’t anything particularly special.
They were enjoyable enough, and I had no complaints about eating them, but they weren’t something I’d be rushing back to order.
Still, they were the highlight of the munchie box for me.
A Wee Mention for the Sauce!
One other positive worth mentioning was the wee orange-coloured dipping sauce that came with our food.
I actually really enjoyed this!
It had a flavour that reminded me a wee bit of Big Mac sauce.
That sort of creamy, burger-style flavour that works really well as a dip.
It was a nice addition to the meal and definitely one of the better parts of the order.
Sometimes it’s the wee extras that surprise you!
Would I Order From Grillaz Uddingston Again?
This is where the review really becomes a tale of two halves.
The spicy chicken pizza? Absolutely.
I’d have no hesitation ordering that again.
It was my favourite part of the meal and something I genuinely enjoyed.
The Monster Munchie Box? Probably not.
Not because there was anything particularly wrong with it, but simply because I didn’t find anything in there that made me want to go back for another one.
The portion sizes were generous, everything was edible, and the wings were decent enough.
But overall, I just felt the munchie box was fairly average.
However, I certainly wouldn’t rule out another visit to Grillaz Uddingston.
Looking through their menu, they’ve got a good selection of burgers and other takeaway options that I wouldn’t mind giving a try.
And considering how much I enjoyed the pizza, I’d be interested to see whether some of their other dishes could be just as good.
Final Verdict – Is Grillaz Uddingston Worth Trying?
For me, this was a mixed experience.
There were some definite positives, particularly the spicy chicken pizza, the dipping sauce and the generous portion sizes.
But the Monster Munchie Box didn’t quite hit the same heights.
That’s not to say other people won’t enjoy it. We all have different tastes, and I’m sure there will be plenty of people who love their munchie boxes.
It just wasn’t something that particularly stood out for me.
My recommendation from this visit would definitely be the Spicy Chicken Pizza.
That’s the one I’d happily go back for.
And I wouldn’t be against trying a burger or something completely different from their menu next time.
