Ginos Blantyre Review – Pizza & Fritters on Main Street

Have you tried Ginos Blantyre?

Sometimes the best scrans are the ones you didn’t actually plan.

I had plans on a Friday which got changed at the last minute, so I needed a scran and I needed one pronto. The closest place to me at the time was Ginos Blantyre, so that made the decision for me.

To my memory, I’ve never actually been in here before or if I have, it was well before I started doing reviews.

This worked out well as I had been recomended to go here quite a few times but just never had the chance before.

What I Ordered at Gino’s

Ginos Blantyre

I kept things pretty straightforward and went for:

  • 🍕 Spicy Chicken Pizza
  • 🍕 Plain Cheese Pizza
  • 🥔 Fritters

Both pizzas tasted great, but do you know what might have been even better?

The smell!

I don’t know exactly what it was, but the smell coming off the pizza base was incredible. When a pizza smells that good as soon as you get it, it’s very difficult to resist diving straight in.

Thankfully, the taste lived up to the smell.

The spicy chicken was my favourite of the two, but even the simple cheese pizza went down a treat.

And the fritters?

Great as always.

You can’t go far wrong with a good fritter alongside your pizza.

Apparently I Need to Try the Pasta…

When I posted my preview from Gino’s, quite a few people commented telling me that I should have tried the pasta.

The problem was I couldn’t see anything up on the walls about pasta, so it never even crossed my mind when I was ordering!

That does, however, give me a good excuse to go back.

It’s only about two minutes from my mate’s house, so I can definitely see myself popping in again and working my way through a few other things on the menu.

And yes — I’ll try the pasta next time!

Would I Go Back to Ginos Blantyre?

Definitely.

There really wasn’t anything I could fault with what I ordered.

The pizzas tasted great, smelled even better, the fritters hit the spot and I thought it was good value as well.

Sometimes that’s all you really need from a local takeaway.

Good scran, good value and somewhere I’ll happily return to.

Another one firmly in the win column for #Blantyre. 🙌
