Chilos Uddingston Review – Burgers & Philly Cheesesteak

Have you tried Chilos Uddingston?

Do you like burgers?

Sorry, wait. Let me restart that…

Do you like absolutely insane, out-of-this-world burgers?

Then Chilos Uddingston might be one for your list.

At the time of writing I’ve visited Chilos Uddingston many times now, and although I thought my first visit was excellent, somehow the second managed to be even better.

So I’ve combined both of them in here and I’ll updated the rest in a future post because they had has something different.

My First Visit – The King Kong Burger

Chilos Uddingston

On my first trip to Chilos, I went straight for the King Kong Burger.

This thing comes loaded with Angus chuck beef seasoned with Chilos’ secret seasoning, mozzarella, two lots of melted cheddar, Chilos sauce, mayo, red onion, gherkins and lettuce.

Basically, there’s a lot going on.

But it worked.

The burger was juicy, tasty, filling and pretty much everything you want from a proper dirty burger.

There was enough going on with the cheese, sauces and toppings without completely overpowering the beef.

I enjoyed it so much that when I eventually returned to Chilos Uddingston, there was a big part of me that just wanted to order exactly the same thing again.

But that wouldn’t make for much of a second review…

So I forced myself to try something different.

I’m very glad I did.

Second Visit – The Philly Cheesesteak

This time I ordered the Philly Cheesesteak.

Chilos’ version comes with thinly sliced steak, their secret seasoning, two lots of melted cheddar, mozzarella, mayo, Chilos sauce and caramelised onions.

And this was it, people.

This is what Willis was talking about.

😂

I absolutely loved it.

The steak, melted cheese, caramelised onions and sauces all came together brilliantly.

In fact, I think I can safely put this in the top three sandwiches I’ve eaten since starting Ribz Reviews.

That’s how highly I rated it.

And No Peppers!

There was another little bonus for me.

No peppers.

Most Philly cheesesteaks I’ve come across seem to include peppers, and personally I normally try to avoid them.

Chilos saved me the hassle entirely.

Steak.

Cheese.

Onions.

Sauce.

That’s much more like it.

I genuinely couldn’t find anything to fault with this sandwich.

Which Was Better?

This is actually a difficult one.

The King Kong Burger was everything I wanted from a big loaded burger – juicy beef, loads of cheese, plenty of sauce and a mountain of flavour.

But if you’re making me choose…

I’m taking the Philly Cheesesteak.

Considering how tempted I was to order the King Kong again on my second visit, I wasn’t expecting to find something I liked even more.

But I did.

And getting into my top three sandwiches from all the places I’ve reviewed is pretty serious praise.

The Ribz Verdict

Two visits.

Two excellent meals.

If you’re after subtle, delicate food, Chilos Uddingston probably isn’t what you’re searching for.

But if you want big burgers, loaded sandwiches, melted cheese and proper indulgent food, this is exactly the sort of place you want to know about.

The King King Burger impressed me enough to bring me back.

The Philly Cheesesteak made me very glad that I returned.

And I’ve already got plans for visit number three.
