Sometimes a takeaway doesn’t need to completely blow you away to do the job.
We gave Happy Garden in Hamilton a try and ordered a decent spread from the menu to get a taste of a few of the Chinese takeaway classics.
Our order included:
- Rice
- Salt and chilli chips
- Beef curry
- Ribs
- Chicken balls
- Wings
What Was the Food Like?
Everything we had was perfectly fine and pretty much exactly what you’d expect from your local Chinese takeaway.
There wasn’t anything I could particularly fault, but equally, there wasn’t one dish that jumped out and had me thinking this was noticeably better than other Chinese takeaways I’ve tried around the area.
And that’s not necessarily a criticism.
Sometimes you just want a Chinese takeaway that delivers the familiar dishes you’re looking for, and that’s pretty much what we got here.
Would I Order From Happy Garden Again?
Absolutely.
While I wouldn’t say Happy Garden stood out as being massively better or worse than other local Chinese takeaways I’ve tried, I had no complaints about the food and I’d have no problem ordering from them again.
If you’re around Hamilton and looking for a local Chinese takeaway, it’s another option worth knowing about.
